Welcome to the Santa Barbara Aero Club,
EAA Chapter 527

Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy aircraft and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our group. We are aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, airport supporters, mechanics, sales people, passengers, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, enhance safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our meetings or events as our guest.

Our group first formed as the Santa Barbara Aero Club (SBAC) in the early 1900s.  Many leading aviators have participated in the Club over the decades as you can discover with an online search, including Earle Ovington cited as the first U.S. Airmail pilot. Also well known in early aviation was SBAC member Lt. Dave Matthews. We have always been involved in promoting aviation and the beautiful Santa Barbara Airport (KSBA).
